Takeru—the former vocalist of SuG—continues his solo journey as “sleepyhead” with the upcoming release of the 13-track, full album, DRIPPING, out on June 20. So far, we’ve been presented with a short teaser to at least give us a small insight of what we can expect. The Meitei Teaser Movie below gives us an impression that Takeru is going for a more sensual sound which is further pushed by the visuals which are described as “remixed 90’s culture into Street Gothic style”.

The news broke out when Takeru made the announcement during the live show 0TH ANNIVERSARY LIVESHOW “Tomei Shingetsu”, which took place at Shibuya TSUTAYA O-EAST on March 17. It was also revealed that the limited edition would include a DVD of the aforementioned live performance, and comes with a pillowcase designed in collaboration with the fashion brand Takeru works for, the brand “million dollar orchestra”.

With this new solo project, Takeru will strive to put more effort into embracing his overseas fans. As a proof of that, Takeru left a message for his overseas fans:

I would like my album to reach everybody around the world and I also would like to play shows abroad. At this stage it is still hard to realize, but I won’t give up and will definitely take on this challenge. Please keep supporting me

We are definitely interested in hearing more about his future overseas plans, and I’m sure many of you as well! Fingers crossed!

Before taking your leave, enjoy some of the photos taken from the Shibuya live performance.
