Combining a potent dose of rap into a cauldron of heavy instruments and vocals, rapcore inspired band CHOKE seeks to create “intense sound” amongst the four-man band after making their debut on May 5, 2017. Each member boasts a lengthy and impressive history of ex-bands including PLUNKLOCK, v[NEU], DragonWAPPPPPPER, and Serial NUMBER. Their first album CHOKE 1 came out on July 14, 2017, and they have released four music videos in the space of just over half a year, one of which was a 360 performance video.

In an interview shot a month after their first album came out, we find that it was the guitarist KVYA NONO who bought the members together. Thanks to their sense of humor and similar taste in music, they seem to click and have gelled the four members tightly together. Interesting tidbit, the bassist B5 rejected joining CHOKE three times over the course of 4 to 5 years before he was finally convinced.

Simply from the music videos, you can hear how this rap metal band has taken inspiration from 90’s and 2000 bands including Limp Bizkit, Korn, Slipknot, Rage Against the Machine, and Linkin Park. What do you think of CHOKE? Leave your thoughts in the comments below.
