The word “excited” can not describe my feelings for la la lark’s upcoming album, Culture Vulture, out on August 30. This was revealed at the band’s fifth anniversary live show back in May 11, held at TSUTAYA O-Crest. The new look of the band uses a surreal tin-foil theme, each mannequin having a photo of the member stuck to the head. It’s strange, but follows the theme of “a faux cultured man” and “culture mania” which combined, produced the name for this album.

Having been a huge fan of Yumi Uchimura’s vocals since the School Food Punishment days, the small embers have been burning gently at the back of my mind since the 28 Tokei (28時) demo. This was published on YouTube three years ago and a small clip of this demo track can be heard in a new behind the scenes video around the three minute mark below:

The album version for Shikisai (色彩), Hallelujah and ego-ism features in the following anime showcase video below; Fate Grand Order, Kuusen Madoushi Kouhosei no Kyoukan and M3:Sono Kuroki Hagane. In total, seven out of the twelve tracks from this album has been an opening or ending for anime series. The music video preview for the opening track of this album titled Massive Passive can be found further down also. We should mention this album will be in two editions, one of which includes a DVD.
