L’arc~en~Ciel turns into zombies in the RESIDENT EVIL 7 collaborative single!

It has been revealed at this year’s TOKYO GAME SHOW that L’arc~en~Ciel will release a new single titled Don’t be Afraid with no release date confirmed as of yet. The members of the band will become 3DCG characters by utilising the RE ENGINE used in the upcoming RESIDENT EVIL 7 video game, or BIOHAZARD as its known in Japan. While the release date of Don’t be Afraid is unknown, we do know that the game is scheduled for release on January 26, 2017.

This collaboration is to celebrate the 20th anniversary of RESIDENT EVIL and the 25th anniversary of L’arc~en~Ciel. Their music video for the song will also be PlayStation VR’s first full-digitizing 360-degree music video for the PlayStation 4! Not only that, there is mention that they will be fighting zombies from the series and possibly become one themselves from looking at the promotional material. Yikes!

It is not the first time the band has collaborated with CAPCOM, as it should be noted that back in 2008, their song Drink It Down was the theme song for Devil May Cry 4.
