‘Short But Sweet’

ONE OK ROCK bring their energetic live performance to Europe for the second year in a row.

After a lengthy set from support band Ghost Town, the members of  ONE OK ROCK slowly took to the stage for an opening jam as the crowd got pumped up. Finally vocalist Taka emerged to launch into the first song Deeper Deeper. Exclaiming his excitement to be returning to London, the performer easily led the crowd into cheering along with an extended ending to Nothing Helps.

Taka left the stage again to give guitarist Toru and Ryota on bass some time to shine in a jam session that kept the energy running high. Later, the band’s newest single Mighty Long Fall proved to be great live, with the crowd eagerly participating during the chorus. For passionate ballad Be the light, Taka directed the audience in swaying their arms side to side as his powerful voice brought them under a spell.

Ramping up the energy again, Taka split the crowd down the middle asking “Are you still alive?!” and suddenly everyone rushed forward into NO SCARED. The final song of the short set was the powerful rock ballad The Beginning, an emotional song that left the crowd wishing the concert wouldn’t end. Thankfully the band soon returned for one final performance, the beautiful Wherever you are in which fans eagerly sang along to both the English and Japanese lyrics.

Despite the feeling that without the support act ONE OK ROCK would have had a longer set, it was a fun night and they promised to return to London in the future. With a new album out in February the future is bright for ONE OK ROCK!
