Mana recently issued a statement in his official blog, which revealed that his gothic lolita clothing brand Moi-même-Moitié will transfer business ownership this October. The reason cited is further overseas expansion in hopes to increase sales and further popularize gothic lolita fashion overseas. This does not mean that Mana is leaving Moi-même-Moitié. The brand has simply decided to tranfer its business to a different company.

After the magazine “Gothic and Lolita Bible” decided to drop Moi-même-Moitié out of its featured brands all together in early 2016, after years of gradual decline of space assigned to it in the magazine, and much the to the dismay of both Mana and fans alike, the brand has been flying under the radar a little bit.

Earlier this year Moi-Même-Moitié has partnered with the site Wunderwelt, an international Japanese lolita clothing retailer, to handle the international portion of their sales. Moi-même-Motié had been originally selling overseas only via CDJapan’s apparel section; however, even though this option doesn’t seem to be going anywhere, many fans allege that ordering this brand’s products through CDJapan has been slow and inconvenient and therefore not very popular. On top of their Wunderwelt partnership, Moitié has recently begun trying to promote and expand business to China as well. It seems that they are now taking steps to expand even further.

On October 10, Mana published an announcement on his blog, titled “Towards a new Moi-même-Moitié”, and the same announcement has also been published on Wunderwelt Fleur’s official twitter. The announcement comes in three languages, one of them being English; thus, we will only be sharing the English portion, as all three parts are essentially the same.

† Towards a new Moi-même-Moitié
This October, Moi-même-Moitié business ownership has been transferred from previous owner Maglaia to TANAQRO’s apparel division. Being able to reach the whole world by making use of TANAQRO’s global structure will be helpful with facing Moi-même-Moitié‘s most important future challenge: To expand Japan’s prized Gothic Lolita culture on a worldwide scale.
My fundamental convictions have stayed the same ever since the foundation of Moi-même-Moitié.
It is my wish to guard this culture and make it known to more and more people.

TANAQRO appears to be the company responsible for running Wunderwelt and many other sites; let us hope that they will treat Moitié well and help it gain more international sales and recognition.

…Additionally, the address where you can send physical fanmail and gifts to Mana has also been changed. He kindly asks you to not send him food and items that would spoil easily.

So, how does this new development sit with you? Are you excited, saddened, or indifferent? Will you be ordering some Moitié if it is made more easily available to you?
